Who actually earns DefCon points
Two points for a defender with 10 or more clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles in a match — or a midfielder or forward with 12 or more, ball recoveries included.
Highest rates among players owned by under 5% of managers.

Data note: Contribution counts and the per-90 rate are published by the official Fantasy Premier League API, as are the thresholds. The rate is compared against the threshold here; the comparison is ours, the numbers are not.
One caveat worth stating plainly: a per-90 rate is an average, not a hit rate. A midfielder averaging 12.5 might post 20, 5, 13 and 12 rather than clearing the line every week. A high rate means the returns are likely, never that they are certain — and goalkeepers do not earn defensive contribution points at all.
